Textiles and manufactured materials are portals through time, place and memory.
These assemblies carry our past into the future as slow motion graffitis of color, symbol and texture. I midwife my work into existence, stitching and designing for inclusion. My idea of perfections is finding the common ground between disconnected pieces.
I develop series and community projects such as SiGNS of LiFE, BEYOND RED WHiTE and BLUE, and The HEXAGON PROJECT to explore universal themes. They showcase individual expressions in shared geometries as an invitation to thought, imagination and action.
My quilts are never square. They grow organically from lived lived experience; not manicured but molded by the elements of every day over an extended time, unfolding and becoming new pieces of history as they are collected and enjoyed.
